We are made of earth and spirit. Dirt and Deity. We have both physical and spiritual aspects to our being. We are temporal and eternal. Do we remember this? When we look at the people around us, on what aspect do we focus?
In 2 Corinthians 5:16, Paul talks about no longer regarding everyone from an earthly point of view. An appropriate thought for this week’s beauty exploration. Seeing the likeness of God in others is surely a way to regard them from a spiritual point of view.
It makes me wonder, how well do I do this?
Am I in the habit of looking at the dirt, or digging through the dirt to find the gold?
How do I share what I see?
How do I affirm the beauty in others?
Consider how the people around you reflect their Creator.
Affirm to them the ways they bear God’s image.
