Beauty conveys messages.
When we are offered beauty through our senses—visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, or tactile—we receive something more than just the physical experience of that beauty. We connect with the heart of the person who provided it to us.
I’ve been exploring this concept in light of hospitality—what we experience and receive from a host. If we take that idea and extend it to God, considering Him as the host who prepared this world and all its beauty for us to enjoy, what do we know about His heart toward us?
As you drink in the sights, sounds and fragrances of creation, as you taste sweet fruit or feel soft fur, ruminate on the heart of God.
What messages is He sending you via these gifts of beauty?
